CAPITAL HIGH TECH was present at the kick off of the DORIS_Net project in Bremen on February 8 (a Coordinated and Support Action within the FP7 SPA.2010.1.1-07 “Fostering downstream activities and links with regions”).

The project officially started on February 1 for a 24 month period. It aims to establish a network linking European regional and local authorities, service providers and other GMES stakeholders on regional, national and European level. A Downstream Observatory will facilitate links between both regional and European level GMES stakeholders and “Regional Contact Offices” (RCOs) will be established in the partner regions of the project.

At the occasion of the kick off, Volker Schumacher from CEON GmbH, the project coordinator declared:

“DORIS_Net will put regional users in the driving seat. By facilitating the long process of increasing awareness, demonstrating, educating and training to help make GMES services operational, the RCOs shall be the regional link for local stakeholders and GMES. The DORIS_Net network will allow data and knowledge exchange and optimize synergies between regions”.
